I was born Starya Marie Miller in a typical small town. My dad was a truck driver and my mom babysat or sold cosmetics to make extra money. When i was 9 my dad was killed in a driving accident and things got pretty tough for us. Money was allways tight and my mon started developing health issues. We got by as best we could, living with granny and her helping.
I was allways a bit shy as a kid, afraid id not fit in cause i didnt have the latest fashions or such things as that. As i watched my mom get sicker over the years and not be able to get all the healthcare she needed i longed to do something someday to help sick ppl like her. I wanted to become a nurse but often kept the dream to myself as i figured schooling for such was financially impossible.
Mom passed away a little before my 18th birthday, cancer and granny was becoming sick and frail herself, she too passed away when i was 21. I have worked hard all my life, scrimping and saving because i was even more determined to take nursing classes so i studied what all i could find in hopes of starting the classes some day.. i was almost ready...
Then one night at a bus stop coming home from work i was attacked by 2 thugs and was almost raped at knifepoint but my screams and struggles cought the ears of a beautiful and kind woman called Chantra. She came running and in anger one of the punks stabbed me deeply in the gut as they ran. Chantra knew it was a fatal wound, as did i but she offered me something so rare and sweet, a chance for a new life, where all my dreams might come true.
Chantra was a vampire, yes they do exist and i gratefully took her offer, becoming her daughter. She let me rest there in the alley after she gave me new life and she hunted down those would be rapists, letting me feed on one while she took the other.
I loved my new mother and indeed this whole huge family i came into dearly, mom encoureged me to follow my dream and my desires to heal. I became a cleric, the healers of our vampiric world so now i can help vampires or mortals alike. I even met a wonderful man.
I was awestruck the first time i saw him, the first time i heard his voice. I figured someone as educated and traveled and as gorgeus as he would never look twice at a poor, small town nobody like me but to my amazement he responded to my shy flirting and now i am head over heels in love, hoping to marry him some wonderful day soon.
Chantra, my mom has left us, persnal issues and pain have driven her from the city but i still hope she will return. Her sister, my aunt Gena who i am very close to and very much like had adopted me and i love her very much. I love all of this family, i finally have found a place that is home.
