Angel smiled at Kiske, and started to giggle." Well, Mommeh has quite a few new babies! we are going to have our hands full protecting them all...they are all just like her!!!" she laughs hard at the last. Her wings reach out and stroke against Kiske's wings. They missed Kiskes wings as much as she missed him.
She decided to tell him about her new lessons." And I am learning to see stories with gimpo. I think he really likes that I came and asked him to learn me..how. I told him I didn't mind that he was going to have to beat me for me to learn and he seemed to get really mad...but I do not think he was mad at me. he said that he could learn me without it. but I know better. to learn is to hurt."She sighs softly, and hugged him closer. "Though it hasn't hurt yet I am sure it will soon as it is getting harder. And I told gimpo and Cuz my talking secret. As I learn to see stories I know that it would come out that I can talk like others so I thought I would tell them before they were surprised. Gimpo didn't say anything for a long time and his voice was sounded very funny. and Cuz was all teary eyed. I didn't know why and I was fraidy to ask. Do you know why they acted like that? Maybe they were made I had not said anything before?" she asked. It had bothered her that Her bro bro gimpo and cuz Starya seemed so upset about her secret. Kiske was so smart he always knew what stuff means, she didn't realize how much she depended on that, until he was gone.

"I dont think they were mad. They were very suprised maybe. Very happy. There are a such thing as happy tears. You will learn.
And as far as you learning, and having to hurt........i have to ask you. Did learning about food fights, and steak pies hurt?"
Kiske smiles, already knowing the answer. But was confused about one thing.
"What do you mean, seeing stories?"
Kiske was curious, even if she didnt notice, she taught him alot too, and he enjoyed those moments when they came up. |

She thought back to what seemed like ages ago to when Kiske first showed her regular food. she didn't understand why back then.. but she was always grateful that he didn't make her feel shamed for who she was. She knew then that the lesson on food fighting was when she fell head over heels in love with him. though no one knew except Red. He was always there to make her smile no matter what happened. He took her and her Red under his wing, though he didn't have them then, and would not let anyone hurt them. She loved him even more for protecting her sister , who never thought she needed protecting.
"Well, no. but it was you Kiske. You would never hurt me. Ever. so it was different.I was learning fun stuff. Learning to see stories I know hurts. It always has. It was easier to make others think it was not possible for me to see stories than to let the process continue. , though I have perfect speech." she removed herself from his hold and began looking for something. She brighten when she found it.
She came back and wiggled back on to his lap and showed him the book she was looking for. It was a book called the courageous cougar.
"You can see this story through the words, I can see some of the story but most of it I can't but at first I could not see any of it. I was about to see your letters a little, thanks to gimpo."

He understood now. Seeing a story meant reading it. He smiled to himself knowing that even tho he had gone for a long time, she had remained determined to better herself, to learn, and to grow. This made him very happy, and made him want her even more as a mate.
"When you were captured.........they tried to make you see stories?"
Kiske realized after he spoke this was a sore subject, and decicded to change it before she answered.
"Nevermind all that. How is your story seeing going now? I bet your learning all sorts of neat stuff."
He smiles as she sits in his lap, he put his arms around her waisit and gave her a small kiss on the neck. He looked down and noticed she had a book.
"Oh, good stuff, what is it?" |

She nodded and giggled at the kiss. She never had a problem with Kiske understanding. "This a story that gimpo gave me I made him see it a lot of times and he never got mad or told me to go away. "
She thought about the question he asked first and sighed and looked up at him. She placed the book on her lap and placed her hands gently against the sides of his face and smiled.
"Kiske you know you can ask me anything..even about the doctors. It doesn't bother me to talk about them. Especially when I am with you. If you want to know about my time there. You can always ask, and I will always answer. So please re-ask your question."
She looked him in the eyes so he knew for sure that it was alright. She knew that he avoided talking to her about the time of childhood. She understood. She had never shied away form her past and she wouldn't now, Red would kill her...she thought with a smile.

He didnt want to ask, it hurt him to ask knowing what they had gone thru. The kind of sick people she was captured by were the kind of people he would make a glad acception to destroy with his own bare hands. She seemed ok with it tho, so he asked again.
"Why would they get mad at you for trying to see stories? Werent they trying to teach you?"
Given the time to think about it, these people sounded not like scientists, or doctors, but mean kids with an antfarm and a magnifying glass.
"What else did they try to "teach" you?"
Kiskes tone was a little aggrivated, and his wings began to flutter in aggrivation too, but quickly calmed afterwards. The thought of anyone hurting Angel or Red was unforgivable in his mind. |

Angel could feel the tension build in her Kiske and snuggled in closer. She had settled her feelings about the Centre and about what was done there. She knew that it bothered him about what happened to her. But he needed to know what had made her who she was. and if they were going to be together there was no time like the present.
"Understand that to teach me "proper" speech seem to be the highlight of their experiments for a while. As I recovered form learning that. someone got the idea that if I could speak I could see stories. So they brought me a book and told me to sound out the letters. As I had been taught this before it was not so hard to do at first. I missed a letter and they burn a feather. still attacked to my wing. As that point it seemed that it would be better to make them think that I could not do it than to take the learning process. They broke left in 4 places. because I didn't pronounce a word right and they half severed my right because I turned the page the wrong way. After that last they were bored and figured that if I could learn it the pain I was in would have been an incentive. and they stopped and reveled in my speech." she stopped and ducked her head. she felt a little ashamed to have to explain this to him,. she didn't want him feeling sorry for her.
She had survived everything they had did to her and in the end they didn't survive when she retaliated. but one last thing need to be said in answer to his other question.
With her head down she answered," Kiske everything that I can do was taught by them. everything except pie making that came from a cooking channel." She would not look up and see the horror on his face. or the anger. She waited for the initial blow-up on why she didn't leave sooner. Holding her breath.

At every mention of a punishment he twitched. His imagination was vivid and he was listening intently. Burning, hitting, snapping.......it was barbaric, and by no means scientific. It angered him greatly, and he wished he knew where these doctors were. He would end them all in the way they needed to be.
His anger was building in a familiar way. He felt it welling up in him, like the way it did before people cried. But this was a sorcs anger. It released differently. He felt it burning inside, like a fire trying to get out. He struggled against it. He felt it escape a little.
A small chill breeze floated up around him, small enough at first not to disturb anything, then it started flipping the pages in her book. His eyes started to white over as he spoke with a tone of anger and of hurt.
"I wont let anyone hurt you Angie..........i will die before that happens."
He hugged her tight, and wrapped his wings around her. The breeze slowly died down |

"No They can't they are all dead, well, for the most part." she knew that to hear about her being hurt make him upset. but he had to remember one thing. The same thing she told Mommeh to remember
"Kiske please do not be upset over what I have told You" she snuggled down into his embrace, and caressed his cheek lightly with her hand.
" They lost their lives to me and my Red, for the things they had done. Whether it was their lifes blood or who their were. everyone who is not dead from the centre dreams of me and my Red. They will never have us again. " she fiinished in a whisper. though the words were said she knew that they had sent people looking for them. but they were never go back, not alive.
"Lets talk about something else, okay?"She says with a smile.

Kiske looked up and smiled at her.
"You wont ever go back, dead or alive........it isnt possible.......because your family will protect you. I will protect you"
He smiled a little and hugged her, her voice soothed every bit of anger that was in his body. He just sat with her in the embrace for a few minutes. He picked his head up finally
"So, you said gimpo was teaching you......how is that going? Is it fun? I used to hang out with him alot too you know, i would go to his library and read his books all the time. I had much fun, week after week reading his books. Lots to know in his place. So, how about you see the story for me? I might not be gimpo, but i can help you with the words you dont know."
The tone of happiness returned to his voice as he spoke to her. No matter what was wrong in the world, being near her made him happy. He reached hie head up and kissed the side of her neck again and smiled. |

She loved that he protected her. it gave her a special feeling of being cherished. She smiled at her Kiske and thought about her seeing stories skills. She didn't want to appear dumb in his eyes...ever.
She relished his hug and his kisses and thought maybe she could not try to see the stories until she was better. But then she knew that would hurt him, and no matter how embarrassed she was, she would not do that to him. So she quickly placed a kiss on his lips with a loud smack and opened that book in her lap.
She slowly began to read and got through the first page okay and then had trouble with the second. she blushed in embarrassment and stammered out in her speech..
Mes not so good yet, but mes gets there you no worries." As she begins to bite her lip.

He smiled brightly as she read, helping her only when she asked for it. He wasnt sure if she realized it, but she was being incredivly brave right now.
"I think your doing fine. You keep up the hard work you know, dont ever give up no matter how hard it gets. It is ok if you get frustrated, and it is ok to take breaks. But dont ever give up. No one here is gonna be made if you take a break."
He smiled at her and then looked down at the book.
"Ok, how about a little more for me?" |

Angel looked up at her Kiske eyes shining with joy and pride that he thought she was doing well. and she continued. asking for help only when she couldn't make out the word. She knew she didn't do well as some live children but she was still proud of what she could do.
She really loved her story and she would see this story for her Kiske whenever he wanted her to.
When she got to the end of the story when the lion was all alone she look up again, and quickly gave him a kiss. " mes never lets you be lone eber gain....yous always haf mes." she said quietly and blushed over declaration.

She was coming along great. Whatever lessons she was getting were paying off as he didnt need to help her much. At the end of the book he smiled at her.
"You did a great Job Angie, im proud of you."
mes never lets you be lone eber gain....yous always haf mes."
"And you will always have me you know. You will never be alone either. EVen if somethign were to happen to me, my love would be with you always."
He pulled her close, holding her head to his chest, and rubbing her back. Enjoying the embrace they just stood there quietly. |
