Baby Angel knew where her brother ad cousin lived. She had yet to visit, but she then she liked to stay away from people. Someone usually wanted to touch and that was so not happening. But she needed Gimpo's help. She knew tht others culd help her, but she didn't trust herself not to get ad and eat them or get mad enough to sic her sister on them and et her eat them.
As she approached the dor to the cabin, she started o drag her feet. she hated learning. It always meant lot of pain but she brought plenty of Salve for herself, for the mistakes she would make.
As she came abreast of the door she lifted her hand she slowly curled it into a fist and banged on the door with all her strength. The door shuttered and groaned under the attack, but Angel knew that someone would answer....

Talon sat in his study, carefully considering an old tome he had found. The language was something akin to Latin, yet it was different enough that he couldn't read it easily. He read, translated what he could and looked for recurring words in context to add to his growing vocabulary of this strange language, which he assumed was either older than Latin or an off shoot.
'BANG, BANG, BANG'.
Talon grabbed his staff, which he always kept near to hand and looked at the study door. It was open, of course, so he made his way to living room and saw that someone was standing at the door. Or something. He moved toward the door, his staff making a tap, tap, tap sound as he walked. He figured it was either Kiske or something coming for him. His staff glowing with a soft black radiance he prepared his magic and opened the door.
Talon stood for a moment as the figure before him registered on his mind.
"Angel", he said, finally and in some confusion. He quickly recovered himself and smiled, stepping to one side, "Would you come in?"
Red held a place in his heart for her fierce pride and determination. Angel, too held a place there, for despite her front, which Red also used, she seemed far more vulnerable and he felt great deal more protective of lovely young woman than he felt he needed to feel toward Red.
"I'm pleased to see you", he said, knowing that she wouldn't want to be touched, just like her sister didn't and respecting her wishes, "if a bit surprised. Please", he said again, gesturing for her to enter. |

"Hey Gimpo! mes needs something. mes not sure if yous cans me knows yous smart not as smart as mes Red but yous okays. Mes think and think and think til mes thunk out. mes sees no other so mes comes and no beer afore neither, not make bad pie just good pie, yous knowss? Well mes wanna see stories but mes not can see, Red cans shes tee smart one, so you make mes see stories? mes brought lots of salve for boom boom when mes wrong. Mes has more and mes brought others too, bandages, cut cuts, so yous not have to use yous stuff" Angie was talking so fast. she really wanted to see stories really good. she could recognize some words and knew what most things said but she couldn't see stories like others and she really wanted to.
"so yous help mes see stories, Gimpo...Me not get mad at the boom boom, mes knows to get stuff there is blood and pain, so yous do it??"

Starya had been to the store to get a few groceries and now she returned, three plastic bags in each hand. She walked up the little stone path that led to the front door and found it unlocked, a sign that Talon must still be home.
She breezed in, calling" Im home sweethear... oh, hey Angel" she says, surprised but happy to see her sister in law / cousin there" How are ya hun, its been too long sense ive seen you. Can i get either of you a drink while i put these groceries away?" she says with a smile as she heads toward the kitchen.

| Talon smiled at Angel and then looked up as Starya came in. "Hello beloved", he said and then turned and watch her go into the kitchen, wondering if he did something wrong. "NOT EVEN A KISS?" he yelled out to her. Then he turned back to Angel, "Why don't you go in the study, Angel", he said, pointing to the correct door. "I'll be there in a minute. I assume you want Guinness. I even have cans, since Red seems to be adament about it." |

" ILL GIVE YOU MORE THAN A KISS BABY, I GOT POP ROCKS" she called from the kitchen and a naughty little giggle soon followed, she wasnt sure if hed heard about a pop rocks blow job or not but shed damn sure show him one as soon as she got him alone. When he wandered into the kitchen she threw her arms around him and placed a passionate kiss upon his lips, her tongue seeking his and her teeth oh so gently nipping his bottiom lip as the kiss parted.
" I got some more of that tea you like , we were just about out of it. Some steaks and im going to bake you an apple pie and i hate these flimsy plastic bags" she says, explaining her lack of a kiss when she walked in and caresses his face before turning to the groceries.
She starts removing things from the bags, one which had been torn and dangerously close to dumping edibles onto the living room floor" Reds not here is she, i dont sense her or hear her?" she asks, knowing Red often went out without Angel but it seemed, to her at least, Angel seldom went out without Red." I hope the twins are ok?" she says, giving a concerned glance to him.

Talon scratched his head. "Well .... If I'm understanding Angel correctly, she wants me to help her learn to read. She wants to be able to .. see stories .. and wants me to help her." He grabbed a can of Guinness for Angel and made a cup of Earl Grey for himself using the hot water from water dispenser in the kitchen. He kissed her, then, and said, "Okay, I'm going to the Study where I told Angel to wait. Great Lady of Law but I hope I'm understanding her, because I'm going to tell her that I'll be glad to help her learn read. If I'm wrong there may not be enough pieces of me to put back together."
He stopped at the kitchen door and turned, "Oh, and no, Red isn't here. That's why I was surprised. I normally don't see Angel by herself. But it's nice to have her here", he smiled. Then he went out and to the study.
"Here you go Angel", he said, handing her the Guinness. Then he sat down on a chair near the fireplace and sipped his tea. "You know, hon, I would be glad to help you in anything I can. I'm happy that you came to me, I'm sure it wasn't easy. We can start with some basic things now. I'll need to pick up some books, though, what I have here are things at University level. I know several other teachers though and I'm sure I can pick up some things once I know where your at grade wise." |

"Hey cuz! Mes visit!!! yous sees!!!!!" Angel responded brightly. She like her Cuz. very much... she went to the study or what she thought was a study and looked around while Cuz and Gimpo make special pie together. she understood.
When gimpo came back he held an Ice cold Guinness! " Mes not get treat! Mes has work first! lots of boom boom when learning..not so wit treats. mes not Let Red gets you when me messes up and you boom boom me. mes knows... mes not sees stories in all your books? but tere lots!!! " She was a little nervous..she gulped down the beer in 3 swallows...and looked for more inside, as she asked the most important question on her mind.."tees Teeechars....they like the doctors...doctors teech stuff but always hurts, so mes ready, whens yous are." she took a deep breath and let it out slowly as her wings enfolded her...

Talon almost spilled his tea and hastily put his cup down. "Angel", he said, keeping his voice level, afraid that she might not be able to distinguish between anger and shock. "I would never hurt you, nor would I let anyone else hurt you if I can do anything about it." He reached out to touch her arm and then stopped himself, feeling frustration. He wanted to hold her, but knew she didn't like it. He pulled back, "Angel. What those bas ... men ... did to you was wrong. I would never do that." He ran a hand through his salt and pepper hair, trying to quell the fury he felt inside at what the, so-called, doctors had done to her and Red.
He stood up and took the empty can. "I'll be right back", he said. He went to the kitchen and smashed the lid of the trash can as he shoved the empty can into the (wrong) trash container.
"I swear, by the Lady of Law, that I will MURDER those no good sons of bitches that hurt those two girls!" He turned to Starya, his eyes blazing with fury, which dampened down as he looked at his wife, her very presence serving to calm him. "Do you know that Angel is sitting in the study, waiting for me to HURT her in order to TEACH her, because THAT'S what she expects since the so-called doctors did that to them? By the Lady I would DIE for those two."
He jerked open the fridge and grabbed another Guinness. "Those FUCKING .. BASTARDS!", he said, slamming the door to emphasize each word, not even aware that he was cursing, which was almost unheard of for him. Then he held onto Starya in frustrated fury. "And I can't even hug her to comfort her", he told her, his voice dropping to a more normal level, "it's just so frustrating."
Talon pulled back slightly and yelled, "ANGEL? Is there anything else you would like while I'm in the kitchen?" then looked sadely at Starya, his eyes brimming with tears over the terrible ordeals they had suffered. |

" Sweet Jesus" she whispered as she held on to her husband. She knew he took his role as a protective big brother to the twins very seriously and in fact Star herself adored the girls and would not hesitate to put her life on the line for them.
The things that were done to them before Gena found them that fateful night were horrid beyond belief, the fact their own birth parents willigly gave the girls up to that hell made Star want to find them and physically shatter every bone in their worthless bodies.
It was a subject that Talon, herself and momma G felt strongly about and even though the twins did not like physical displays of affection the three of them tried to get it across that they DID love the girls and would fight hell itself for them.
" And even though in her mind she expects you to hurt her.. she still trusts you, trusts us both enough that she will come here for help.Dear gods. I swear im going to put my fist through a fucking wall.. no, through someones goddamn face if they so much as look wrong at those two." she says, her eyes flashing.
She kisses Talon softly and tenderly touches his face" Im not going anywhere unless its a family emergency, ill be here if you need me or if she wants me there. I have some sprite and hershies kisses if she wants some, Kiske got her rather fond of sprite and chocolate i think" she smiles .
" What exactly is she wanting to learn i wonder?"

Angel thought maybe Gimpo was mad at her. she scooted away just a bit and thought to call Red. But, she thought that was silly. she was rarely silly, only with Kiske. Kiske like when she was silly. gimpo was probably mad cause he had to drink that foul smelling stuff he almost spit out. and she said as much." mes knows you haf drink that bad stuff you goes get yous beer. beer much better gimpo." she said as he got up to leave, nodding knowingly.
Angel could hear something going on in the other room but it didn't worry her as she knew Gimpo and Cuz would not hurt her...well besides the teaching, but that is to be expected. She shrugged to herself and commanded her wings to release her.. She knew they were only trying to protect her but well she had to have the teaching. When gimpo called if she wanted anything she laughed aloud...
"yeah Gimpo! mes wants MORE BEER!!! and Pies yous gets pies??? mes needs pies, and small cakes for cups! ohhhhh and chocos! mes wants tat!" she hollered in her softly booming voicing. Because Angie looked so delicate it was a bit of shock to hear her use the entire depth of her voice though mostly childlike her voice often sound like dulcet musical notes,when she raised it. it sounded like a loud musical cacophony.
She knew that Gimpo was going to show her how to see stories. she was so happy she did what only Red and Kiske had ever seen.....
she beginning hearing the happy music in her mind and her body and her wings moved in time to that melody in her head.Swaying to and fro and then swirling and twirling slowly as her arms moved first above her head and then clasped in front of her. As her body did a complicated move, bending a little at the hips and backward her wings danced aout her lightly lifting her. with her body swaying and twirling she alighted on the air her arms stretched out at her sides. she literally danced on the air in the study, softly humming aloud.
She was going to see Stories!!!

She giggled softly as she heard Angels food requests and she went to the pantry and handed Talon a bag of the kisses and a box of hostess cupcakes"Not quite as good as home made but if you can get her to stay for supper and maybe find out what she wants ill whip up a nice hot meal for all of us" she grins .

"Great Lady", Talon said, opening the fridge and getting a cherry pie, his personal favorite. "Where does that little woman put it all?" He took out a service tray and put the cherry pie, the cupcakes, the hersheys and the one of the two six packs on the tray. The single Guinness he kept for himself, remembering what Angel had commented about. He didn't really drink beer, but he had had to drink far worse than that.
"You know", he told Starya, after giving her a kiss and moving to the kitchen door, "she has a rather lovely voice. I had never thought of that before." Then he went through the door and to the study. He stopped at the doorway, watching Angel dance to the unseen music.
'You should see this', he said to Starya mentally, hoping Angel didn't spot him before Starya could see. 'I think she's really happy. It's so good to see.' |

Star hurries to see, moving swift and silent and her eyes go wide at the sight. She clamps a hand over her mouth lest some noise escape her and disturb the scene. She looked at Talon and spoke to him with her mind" Shes.. dancing. Oh look at her shes so pretty" she says, wanting to bounce a bit herself at seeing her cousin and sister in law dancing so merrily.

Talon waited until she finished, smiling at Starya from time to time. Once Angel stopped he moved into the room carefully, balancing the tray in one hand and walking with the staff in the other.
"You dance beautifullly", he told her, working to set the tray on the table and taking the one beer for himself, leaving the six pack and the food for Angel. "Divine grace doth, upon our tainted souls, bring light as the sun chases darkness from the land."
He took a seat and smiled, raising a hand to Starya to join them. "Now. Lets start with basics. Understand that I'm just trying to establish a base to work from. Do you know your alphabet?" |
