After a brief, yet comfortable, warm shower and a quick shave, Lochlyne had retired for the evening in his new bedroom. Oh, was the bed ever comfortable, and his bedroom was rather large. Much larger than previous bedrooms he had ever had. There was a even a grand piano in the center of the room. He was not sure if the previous room owner had a knack for playing the instrument, or whether it was just in the room simply because they had no place to put it, but.. He was glad there was a piano there. Lochlyne had been introduced to the piano at the age of four, having been taught by his mother how to play it. He was a highly gifted pianist.. But.. that was not the only instrument that he played.

As much as the bed was comfortable, it did not really help Lochlyne while he slept. He was not used to sleeping during the day, first of all; the other reason was because of the vivid dream he was experiencing. He seemed to be reliving horrific events in his lifetime within that single period of sleep.. up until his supposed murder by the hands of those vampiric thugs that almost ended his life in the alleyway that previous night. Lochlyne tossed and turned all night, kicking off the bed comforter and ruining the bed sheets. When the man had woken up during the evening, he bolted up suddenly, having re-experienced the act of murder. He was covered in sweat.. even his hair wet from the moisture, and his hands shook a little bit. He looked about frantically, confused as to where he was. Why did he feel so helpless..? Of course he had forgotten what Gena had told him.. That his first awakening would be somewhat confusing.. Not to mention he did have this horrible feeling deep down inside.. like he was craving something. All of a sudden, he remembered.

He leaned over to the side to where his nightstand was and pulled open the drawer to frantically search for that vial of blood. He found it, and without a second though, uncapped the vial and downed the red liquid. It. . did not taste as horrible as it did the other night. His taste for it had already changed. It was a smooth indescribable flavor.. and it was sweet to the last drop. As much as it did quench his thirst, it did not really do much for the slight confusing still dancing in his head. Lochlyne looked down at his body to investigate his wounds; he found that the bullet holes upon his flesh had already healed shut, but left behind scars. Perhaps he needed something to give him a foothold.. His thoughts turned to a woman he had also met that previous night: Celestia.

The minute he did that, his hands stop shaking.. and his body seemed to relax after being so tense since he had awoken. A smile played across his lips for that moment while his eyes closed. His mind envisioned the scene where he and here had held hands. . He was not too sure why she did not let go after she had done so.. But he was very glad that she held his hand.. And that kiss to his cheek nearly made the man faint. Strange how a man his age could get so.. giddy. He forced himself to stand, placing the empty glass vial on the nightstand. Lochlyne was simply clothed in a pair of clean PJ pants, given to him by one of the servants as well as a shirt before he had gotten into the shower that previous night. During the night, he must have woken up briefly to remove it. Lochlyne stretched and jumped up and down a few times to get himself woken up before he walked over to the piano in the center of his bedroom. His fingers gently slid over the ivory keys before he pulled the stool out from underneath the instrument to sit. Not too long after was Lochlyne playing a classical piece. Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.. by Johann S. Bach. Though the original piece was made for a pipe organ, Lochlyne had learned a transcribed version of the piece with the help of his original mother. Of course, he did have the entire score engraved into his mind. His fingers played fluidly throughout the eight and a half minute piece as his mind seemed to wander frequently back to Celestia as he played.

The rest of the night and the following daylight hours passed peacefully for Gena. Shed helped her new son up to his room and told him to call if he needed her, they would now share the telepathic bond of sire and childe so he could allways reach her if he needed.

She kept her mind open to him, not prying into his thoughts but just.. aware should some sense of great pain or panic over take the newly made vampire and she needed to hurry to him.All went well, just a few moments of jumbled emotions coming through from time to time that she attributed to the normal processes of becoming what he was.

She had gone about her normal routine upon waking, fixing herself a snack and going over the mail. Checking in on the clan and so forth.Young Celestia had called her to ask if Lochlyne was awake and how he was doing and two of her family, Starya and Vikki had came in and had been delighted to learn of the new addition .

After a while she heard the beautiful sounds of piano music drifting through the hallways and she knew he must be awake.She had been a bit concerned when shed seen that Mrs Hendricks had put him in the room with the piano. She had stored it in the room because it seemed to fit the decor in there and she didnt think anyone in the family could play so she had it moved from the master livingroom .Shed have gladly moved it elsewhere if he so desired but.. was that really him playing? He was fantastic!

She hurried up the stairs and down the corridor to his room where she listened at the door a minute or two and only when hed finished the beautiful piece did she softly knock.

" Lochlyne, its me hun can i come in?"

Through the last three minutes of the song, he sensed someone outside the door of the bedroom. He kept playing though.. but.. could not help the feeling that it was his mother standing outside the door. He was still trying to come to grips with these new feelings and senses, but was already getting used to all of them. Very fast learner, or perhaps just a natural vampire, he didn't know. There was a new energy burning inside him. He honestly had not felt so alive in such a long time. Before tragedy struck his original family, he never really was quite the same as he used to be. But ever since he had met his new mother and Celestia, he felt like his old self that had died years ago.

After Lochlyne had finished the piece, he had heard the knock at the door. It made him smile to hear his mother's voice; he stood up from the stool and walked over to the large double-door that separated his room from the housing corridor of the castle and opened it slowly. He poked his head outside to see Gena standing there. He immediately shot her a warm smile and opened the door fully. "Good evening, mother.. I hope.. my playing didn't disturb the others. I just haven't touched a piano in a year or so.." He was so excited to see his mother that he had forgotten to put back on his shirt.. oh well, at least she could see that his wounds had made a full recovery.. aside from the scars.

Gena was very happy to see her new son looking so well and.. vibrant. His wounds were healed and yes she did take the oppertunity to look and his eyes were clear and alert.She entered the room and gave him a gentle kiss to the cheek. "My dear you look wonderful, and you play.. oh hun that was just beautiful" she says, beaming with pride.

" I dont think you disturbed anyone dear, i was allready awake and about as was Starya and Vikki" she says and explaines" Starya is my niece, but also my daughter in law as shes wed to your older brother Talon. Vikki is my grandchilde but my daughter in law as shes wed to your older brother Grim.Yes our family is a bit incestous but incest amoung vampires is common and is not tabooed as it is amoung mortal races. The girls cant wait to meet you and im sure your brothers feel the same" she smiles.

" Oh and Celestia called earlier asking after you, i think you made a nice impression on her last night" she says with a playful grin."And your father Phlegyas was proud to have a young fighter son when i told him and your father Galen is proud too that you are here with us, i hope you get to meet them soon they should be floating about somewhere" she says.

One could tell she was excited, happy to see her young one looking so much better and when she spoke of her mates and her other childers and kin she had a look of deep devotion, love and pride upon her face." So my dear, can i get you anything?"

"I honestly can't wait to meet them all.." Lochlyne gave his mother a smile before enveloping her in a warm embrace. "Mother.. Words can never express how thankful I am for you finding me last night. " He indeed was feeling this bond he had with his sire very strong and burning.. especially when she was near him like. After a long moment or so, he pulled away to look his mother in the eyes with a smile, "I'm glad you like my playing.. I'm surprised I could even play that still."

When she asked him if he needed anything, he thought for a moment, "Well.. I really don't- .. Actually.. Would you happen to have something else for me to wear..? The rest of my clothes are back in my apartment... but.. I doubt they'd be there since those guys took my keys last night.. and my wallet.." He sighed somewhat looking down as he took a pace back to think things through.

" Of course sweety, i allways keep a few changes of clothes around if they are needed for guests or new family members. Would jeans and a t shirt be ok, i am sure i have some that will fit you. And son dont you worry, i will give you the money to buy yourself what ever you need. Call any credit card companies and say you were robbed, do the same for the bank. It might take a day or two but things will be straightened out" she says, trying to reassure him"

" Ill go get you some clothes, oh one of the girls might pop up, they both are very kind ladies and both love the family dearly. They both are clerics so if they want to examine you just let em "she laughs softly" We have plenty of healers in the family and they both are miffed at themselves that they werent here for you last night, tho they both agree that besides them Celestia is the best help you can have"

She turns to head back out and to one of the storage rooms where she kept various styles of clothing for whom ever might need them .

"Thank you mother, I much appreciate it.. And I'm looking forward to meeting the family.." His smile still played across his lips as he watched her towards the storage. During this time, he took the liberty of walking to where the telephone was in his room and decided to call his credit card company and his bank. The conversations went well for the most part.. but perhaps far too many questions.

While he was on the phone, his eye caught something in his room that he had noticed the previous night. A beautiful red door.. adorned with the most beautiful sculptures of clouds, cherubs, and wings. He had wondered what was behind the door ever since he first set foot inside the room. He felt a strange sensation every time he looked at it. He had yet to approach it. After he had hung up the phone with the bank, he stood up and walked over to where the door was on the far side of the room. Lochlyne's fingers then began to feel over the door, sliding his fingers against the wooden door. It was dense, even to the touch. He would have been examining it for the past few minutes or so now, looking at every detail.. the artwork was simply magnificent.

There was new family in the house,a new presance felt upon waking. When G had confirmed that indeed a new one had came home Vikki was thrilled and eager to meet the young one. She too had been shot and left for dead, the victim of a 7 11 hold up and she could sympathize with the fear, confusion and pain that he might well be feeling.

When G had not returned downstairs after some minutes she could no longer contain her curiousity and she bounded up the stairs to seek out her new uncle, she knew Starya would not be too far behind her.

She found her way to his room and softly knocked, peeking her head in just a bit." Hello, you must be my new uncle Lochlyne. Im Vikki Windstarr" she says with a kind smile and a welcoming look.

Vikki had been right, Starya was hot on her heels eager to see G`s new baby. Starya was the main healer and trainer for the family and Genas clan so she just HAD to see this new little bundle. Plus the fact she had to see for herself if her new cousin / brother in law was doing allright after his transformation.

Mear seconds after Vikki had spoke Staryas own pretty face could be seen peeking in beside that of her step daughters." Hi ya, im Starya Icestorm. Oooo a new brother in law, way cool. So how ya feelin? Are you holding up allright?" she asks, she and Vikki both looking careully at him from the doorway .

Like always, Lochlyne was startled. This time by his sister in law and his niece.. He looked turned around slowly, still without a shirt. His eyes looked back and forth between the two as they both spoke before speaking, himself. "Hey.. Yes, I'm Lochlyne. Its nice to meet the both of you. He noticed that Starya was eying him in that cleric way, "Well, I'm doing a lot better.. Still getting used to things, but for the most part I feel wonderful. I haven't felt this good in a very long time." He walked up to the both of them, exchanging a greeting handshake with both the ladies.

He continued to smile at the both of them as he made his way back towards his bed. slipped his white shirt on that he was wearing before he slept, and started making his bed... he was very neat about it as well, measuring the fold of the blanket exactly five inches in width. It was somewhat comical to watch him inspect it afterwards. "I'm uh.. Looking.. forward to meeting the whole family.. I mean, whenever everyone isn't busy."

Vikki and Starya watched him and grinned at each other" Oh hes a sweety, i like him" she pronounced her decision with a nod. She bounced into the room and gave him a warm hug" Welcome to the family uncle Lochlyne" she says" Were not so different, the way we were found by our sires i mean. Gena told me what happened. I look forward to getting to know you better and if you ever need a hand just let me know ok" she says with a smile .

" I gotta jet, ive got some assignments to do tonight but ill be back later, i shouldnt be gone too long" she says and gives him a friendly wave and hugs Starya on her way out.

Starya too liked this new one and she also moved into the room to gently hug him " Yeah, welcome indeed Lochlyne. You have got one hell of a great sire, she adopted me for a while when my sire had to leave the city for a while. She will pamper the hell out of you if ya let her" she grins" I stand with Vikki, you need anything you just call. We are a crazy bunch at times but we look after each other till the end"

"I need to head out for a bit myself, gotta quest to knock out the way but ill be back later . Anytime you wanna chat just give a yell" she smiles affectionately at him and heads out. Her voice heard in the hallway" Hey G, hey Celestia, great to see ya girlfriend. Yeah hes in there, oh girl snag him hes adorable"

After a few minutes of giggly conversation Celestia knocks softly and walks into his room, carrying a few changes of clothes that Gena had found for him." Hi Lochlyne" she says with a sweet smile and a clear blush to her fair cheeks." I hope you dont mind me stopping in, i just had to see how you were."she says and carefully suts the neatly folded pile upon a comfy chair in his room.

" Gena had a phone call so she asked me to bring these in" she explaines herself" Wow this is a great room, and you look wonderful" she blushed even deeper and stammered" I mean.. you look so much better than last night.. not that you are bad looking but.. oh you know.. How are you feeling?" she asks, hoping she does not grow another foot to stick in her mouth like her normal two seem to be.

Staryas words had seemed to set her insides all aflutter, was it that obvious that she felt such an instant attraction to Genas new childe?

Each hug that the women had given Lochlyne, he returned in a somewhat bashful way before saying his goodbyes to each of them as they left. He was not sure if what Starya said down the hallway was her trying to be discreet, or she just thought that Lochlyne would not hear her, but.. he did hear. He let a silent, "Uh," just before Celestia had walked inside. His eyes widened and he felt this strange feeling of unworthiness standing such beauty. He had to clear his throat and literally hit his own leg discreetly to make himself speak.

"Hey Celestia," he said in a somewhat gentle tone.. maybe a little shy. "I can never object to seeing you.. Um, I'm doing great. Your healing has done wonders. I'm.. fully recovered.. save a scar here and there." He found the way she blushed to be.. absolutely cute. He stared at her for the longest time before snapping back to reality, "Oh.. did you need to inspect the wounds, Celestia..?"

" Ok sure, thank you" she says and moves near to him. She was curious to see how her work had turned out, there was just something about him that made her want to be sure he was ok and safe and not in pain.She gently raises his shirt, leaning in a bit and letting her fingertips softly caress over the wounds, putting just the tiniest bit of pressute to see if he felt and pain. She did this again to his back, rather liking the way his nicely toned form felt beneath her fingers.

" Oh yeah, you look great and much stronger allready. Those scars might even fade away over time" she says, her eyes meeting his and holding his gaze with a somewhat awestruck and affectionate look in hers

" So um...Do you wanna go out sometime" she blurted out, her face going 3 shades of red and she looked like she wanted to dive under the bed and hide" I mean.. um.. you know.. Go for a walk, have a drink.I dont know many people in town but i like you, i feel like your someone id like to be around more" she says.

" You.. dont have to if you dont want to. I dont wanna be a pest" she says softly, seemilgly afraid hed turn her down outright.
